decomposing bananas always call to be used.  somehow i’ve run out of chocolate chips so i couldnt make my usual choco chip banana bread.    so this recipe with nutella seemed like a perfect substitute!

Nutella banana bread

adapted from tastykitchen

  • 4 whole Ripe Bananas
  • ½ cups Melted Butter
  • ½ cups Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 whole Egg Beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1-½ cup All-purpose Flour
  • 4 heaping Tablespoons Nutella

Preparation Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°.

Butter and flour a 4×8 inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mash bananas. Add butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla to the mashed bananas. Next, add the baking soda, and salt to the mixture and stir. Finally, add the flour and mix till just combined.

Pour the mixture into the loaf pan.

Add the four spoonfuls of Nutella on top of the mixture. Place them in a row down the center of the mixture in the pan. With a knife, run the blade through the Nutella spoonfuls to create a swirl effect.

Place in the oven and bake for 1 hour.

Cool on a rack.

Remove from the pan and serve!
